In Active Directory, you can designate a bridgehead server for a site using the Active Directory Sites and Services console. Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Open the Active Directory Sites and Services console. You can open it by typing “dsa.msc” in the Run dialog box or by searching for “Active Directory Sites and Services” in the Start menu.
  2. Expand the Sites node, and then expand the site for which you want to designate a bridgehead server.
  3. Expand the Servers node, and then right-click on the domain controller that you want to designate as the bridgehead server.
  4. Select Properties from the context menu.
  5. In the Properties dialog box, select the Inter-Site Transports tab.
  6. Select the site link for which you want to designate the server as a bridgehead server, and then click the Add button.
  7. In the Add Connection Bridgehead dialog box, configure the bridgehead server settings by selecting the appropriate options for the following fields:
    1. Transport Type: Select the transport type (IP or SMTP) to use for replication traffic.
    1. Cost: Specify the cost for the connection to determine the order in which replication traffic is sent.
    1. Schedule: Specify the replication schedule for the connection.
    1. Bridge all site links: Select this option to designate the server as a bridgehead server for all site links in the site.
  8. Click OK to save the changes and close the dialog box.
  9. Repeat the above steps to designate additional bridgehead servers for other site links, if necessary.

It’s important to note that each site should have at least one bridgehead server to ensure reliable and efficient replication between sites. Additionally, when designing site link topology, it’s important to consider the available network bandwidth and the number of domain controllers in each site to ensure that replication traffic is optimized and efficient.

So, that’s all in this blog. I will meet you soon with next stuff .Have a nice day !!!
